WISDOM TEETH PROBLEMS

Often many patients suffer from issues due to wisdom teeth. Oral surgery deals with

Surgical extraction of wisdom teeth:
Also called “disimpaction”, it is done for wisdom teeth that do not erupt, are embedded in bone, or are malpositioned, causing recurrent infection, earache, headache, or difficulty in opening the mouth. A surgical extraction is also indicated for fractured teeth or root pieces.

Extraction of teeth:
It is generally indicated when the tooth structure is badly damaged or fractured, and it is non-salvageable. Prophylactically, milk teeth extractions are indicated to make way for permanent teeth to erupt in position or for orthodontic purposes.

Surgical removal of cyst/tumor/abscess drainage:
It is generally associated with trauma or a severely infected tooth. An abscess is due to pus formation, which needs to be drained. A cyst is a fluid-filled sac either in soft tissue (gums/cheek) or hard tissue (bone). Tumors can occur in the hard tissue or soft tissue. They can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous).

Surgery at our clinic is done under professional standard asepsis (infection control). It is a pain-free procedure done under local anesthesia. The recovery is also uneventful.

At our center, we use the latest LASER to perform surgical procedures.
